Media intern Victoria Farrow tells us how about how to apply for the Project Coordinator role within Discovery role and how it can boost up your resume with new exciting skills and experiences.

What exactly is a PC role?

The role of a Project Coordinator is vital in the Discovery team as they are responsible for leading groups of volunteers and managing the projects. Overall, they are the main coordinators of groups of volunteers, but they also need to ensure that everything goes smoothly whilst making sure its’ a positive experience for everyone.

However, don’t worry. This doesn’t mean you have to do everything by yourself!

You can co-PC with a fellow student volunteer- this means that you can have a backup buddy. What’s more, PCs can delegate task to other volunteers for example making phone calls, organising transport or doing ice breakers.

Additionally, Project Coordinators are fully supported by the Volunteering Projects Manager, Project Support Worker and the rest of the Discovery staff and trustee team. Therefore, when it doubt, you can always ask someone for help and advise. All project coordinators also receive training in how to do the role.

The recruitment process is throughout the summer and the deadline to apply is Monday 13th September.
