Positivity Postcards
Last month, I took part in a volunteering opportunity called Positivity Postcards. This was a volunteering opportunity focused around creating positive postcards for children who are part of a charity supporting ADHD children. This charity supports children from a large age range.
They support ADHD children from their toddler years up until they are older teenagers. In order to have enough space to comfortably complete this session, we went into a big room in the Taliesin.
During this workshop, we were given cards to write and draw on. We were also given some positive statements that we could write onto the cards, but we were also allowed to choose our own if we wanted to.
I really enjoyed this session as it allowed me to have an opportunity to use my imagination in thinking of ways to inspire children and young people. I enjoy drawing and being creative as I find it very relaxing. I also think that it was a beneficial workshop as the postcards that we made will brighten up the day for the children who receive them. They will help to inspire these children and support them in trying to achieve their dreams.
I would definitely recommend this session in the future as I feel it was a very relaxing environment where we could fully express our creativity. It will also help children who have ADHD to recognise their strengths and abilities. I feel that this is beneficial due to the fact that young people with disabilities may feel discouraged due to the challenges they may face on a daily basis. However, each child has unique strengths and talents that with the right encouragement could use to achieve great things.
