Student-led Projects
We offer 12 student-led projects for our volunteers to get involved in. No two projects are the same, with a choice of volunteering in multiple different areas.
Volunteering with Children
Buddied Reading
Working closely with two local schools, volunteers are paired with children to help them with their developing literacy skills!
Here, volunteers commit 2 to 3 hours a week.
Building Blocks
A program for children using the LEGO therapy model to encourage turn-taking, social interactions, problem solving skills, and motor skills!
These sessions are run once a week, with a volunteer committing 2 hours to the project weekly.
School Daze
Volunteers will go to a school and provide classroom support for children and teachers! This would be a great opportunity for anyone studying Early Childhood Studies or interested in Primary School teaching.
In this project, volunteers commit 2 hours a week.
Volunteering with Adults
Active 18
Volunteers taking adults with additional needs on group trips and activities in accordance with the NHS 5 Ways of Well being.
Volunteers dedicate only 4 hours a month to this project, making it very easy to fit around a busy schedule.
Age Exchange
Students will go to care homes where they will interact with the residents, participating in art and craft activities, playing games, and socialize! Volunteers get the chance to get-to-know residents and learn more about them.
This project requires students to dedicate 3 hours a week of their time.
